Crosscut Media – Winners of ‘Contribution to Leicester Comedy Festival 2017’

We are very proud to announce that last night at the Leicester Comedy Festival Awards Ceremony 2017, Crosscut Media won the award for Contribution to Leicester Comedy Festival 2017. The award is in reference to our video, photo and social media content that we produced for the festival this year. We couldn’t have covered this years festival nearly as well without the help of our De Montfort University Graduate Champions Calum Lawrence and Annie Howell, and our DMU Masters Student Ffion Quick who were invaluable to us. The award has previously been won by Everards BreweryThe Curve and Leicester City Libraries. We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone at Big Difference Company who run the festival for this award, even though it meant we had to make a speech in a room full of comedians. Crosscut Media attended the awards in two capacities, as nominees but also to film and photograph the event, with view to publishing highlights/photographs of the event by the following morning. The event was publicised on British Comedy GuideLeicester Mercury and Chortle.

Crosscut Media have had a strong relationship with the Leicester Comedy Festival, having over the past two years filmed and edited video content for the festival social media channels and archive. This year however we not only captured content, we also controlled the whole of the festivals social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Snapchat). We have had many highlights over the past two years, from flipping pancakes with Johnny Vegas to filming Romesh Ranganathan sing Showaddywaddy. We would also like to say thank you to Underground Photography who photographed the awards, as well as The UK Pun Championships and Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year Award this year.
