The Clearcast Process

Clearcast are an independent organisation who check adverts before they are aired on both broadcast channels and video on demand channels. They check that claims you are making are substantiated and that it is suitable for broadcast. We manage the entire process of clearance in house – liaising directly with Clearcast to ensure your ad goes to air as quickly as possible.

The process starts with the submission of a script. This script details what is on screen at any one time, any text or logos and soundtrack. Although this doesn’t need to be done before production commences, it’s highly recommended in case something is picked up that may be unsuitable for broadcast.

Once the script has been approved, we can submit a rough cut of the advert or the final version for approval. We attach any relevant supporting documentation with this to back up claims made within the advert.

Finally, the advert is approved and can be broadcast on TV or on VOD channels. The whole process usually takes 1 to 2 weeks, although a fast track service is available at an additional cost.
