Once again, we joined forces with The Wedding Academy and a large team of wedding professionals to produce the International Wedding Trend Report video for 2020. Shot on location at the Clapton Country Club, the video supplements the annual written report produced by the Academy.

This year we supplied a crew of three to produce the report – 2 working on the main report and 1 capturing b-roll and student interviews and testimonials. This ensured the day would yield a high amount of deliverables and prove itself as cost effective as possible.

The video was produced in a TV magazine show format – using elements of the styled shoot at the location as our ‘studio’ for talks about various trends whilst also cutting to a number of pre-recorded videos from wedding experts around the world. To achieve this, we sent out a ‘self-shooting guide’. This guide is all about filming using a mobile phone and covers everything from settings through to lighting, sound and composition. This meant that the pre-recorded clips would slip into the edit without being jarring for the viewer.

As previously mentioned, we also produced a number of interviews with students. A 3 person crew allowed us time and resources to pay attention to lighting, creating some really moody, professional looking interview sequences. To achieve this look, we turned off as many working lights within the venue as possible before using an Aputure Lightdome with LS-C300d suspended above the subject, a bounce board below to help fill their faces and a backlight for each subject on screen.

We really enjoyed working with all of the wedding pros on the shoot, and of course the team at The Wedding Academy! If you’d like to discuss a project with us, please feel free to get in touch.
