The awards are in… and the winner for best awards ceremony goes to… Midlands Movies 2019!

Midlands Movies Awards 2019 has taken place, and it was an amazing awards ceremony. Being held at Hansom Hall for the 2nd year, it was all glitz and glam on the red carpet as the attendees arrived. Ed Stagg (BBC Radio Leicester) presented the ceremony with Mike Sales (Founder of Midlands Movies) also giving a speech. Some of the winners were:

  • Best Music – Janet Devlin for Songbird
  • Best Director – Gemma Norton for Troubled Waters
  • Best Short – Alex Lockwood for 73 Cows
  • Best Editing – Ed Radford and Joshua King for Little Boxes
  • Best Actor in a Leading Role – Chris Butler for The Front Door
  • Best Actress in a Leading Role – Vivienne Bell for Troubled Waters

We were there on the night to film the event, this involved filming the whole ceremony, capturing b-roll of the ceremony room and interviewing each of the winners after their speech. We met some amazing people at the event, an event which everyone was thrilled to be apart of, whether they won on the night or not. It’s an event which is bound to get bigger and bigger, and we can’t wait to see how it looks next year!
