Instagram

(This information is from Snappa, as Instagram do not publish their recommended formats.)

Recommended

  • H.264 Codec
  • AAC Audio
  • 3 500 kbps bitrate for video
  • Frame rate of 30 fps (frames per second)
  • Maximum file size of 15 mb

    • Videos must meet height and width specifications, as well as aspect ratio specifications. You can calculate an aspect ratio by dividing the video width by height.
      • Width: Between 640 and 1920 pixels
      • Height: Between 360 and 1920 pixels.
      • Aspect ratio: Between 1.778 and 0.5652.

YouTube

Container: H.264

Video Codec:

  • Progressive scan (no interlacing)
  • High Profile
  • 2 consecutive B frames
  • Closed GOP. GOP of half the frame rate.
  • CABAC
  • Variable bitrate. No bitrate limit required, although we offer recommended bitrates below for reference
  • Chroma subsampling: 4:2:0

Audio:

  • Codec: ACC-LC
  • Channels: Stereo or Stereo + 5.1
  • Sample rate 96 khz or 48 khz

Frame Rate: Content should be encoded and uploaded using the same frame rate that was used during recording. Common frame rates include: 24, 25, 30, 48, 50 and 60 frames per second (other frame rates are also acceptable).

Resolution and Aspect Ratio: The standard aspect ratio for YouTube on a computer is 16:9. When uploading other aspect ratios such as vertical or square, the player automatically adapts itself to the size of the video. This setting gives the best viewing experience based on the aspect ratio and device.

TikTok

Aspect Ratio: 9:16 or 1:1

Video Resolution: We suggest a resolution ≥720*1280px, ≥640*640px, or ≥1280*720px.

File Type: .mp4, .mov, .mpeg, .3gp, or .gif

Video Duration: We suggest short videos of 5-60s.

Bitrate: ≥516 kbps
