Crosscut Media’s February Wrapped

A Month of Creativity and Storytelling

February has been a whirlwind of exciting projects for the Crosscut Media team! From comedy festivals to theatrical productions and corporate events, we’ve been capturing the essence of every story through our lenses. Here’s a look back at what we’ve been up to this month.

Leicester Comedy Festival: A Decade of Laughter

This month marked our 10th year working with the Leicester Comedy Festival, an achievement we’re incredibly proud of. Our team was on the ground capturing dynamic content for social media, archiving stand-out performances, and conducting exclusive interviews with comedians. A standout moment from this year’s festival was covering the prestigious Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year competition, which showcased the best rising comedic talent in the UK.

Pall-Ex: Future of  Excellence

We had the pleasure of filming the annual Pall-Ex Awards, an event that honours excellence within the logistics industry. Our work included producing a high-energy highlights video that encapsulated the night’s most memorable moments, as well as conducting interviews with key members and sponsors to document their experiences and insights.

Curve Theatre: Bringing Stories to Life

The much-anticipated touring production of ‘There’s a Monster in Your Show’—the musical adaptation of Tom Fletcher’s beloved ‘Who’s in Your Book?’ series—made its debut at Curve Theatre, and we were there to capture the excitement. Our team filmed vox pops with the audience, capturing their reactions before and after the show, highlighting the joy and wonder this new production brings to families.

Birmingham Hippodrome: Showcasing New Musicals

We’re thrilled to be working with the Birmingham Hippodrome on an exciting documentary project that will be part of their New Musicals Showcase in March 2025. The showcase will highlight a range of new musical works, and we’re creating introductory videos to introduce the talented writing teams behind these productions. These videos will offer a unique behind-the-scenes look at the creative processes of the teams and provide an exciting preview of the works they’re developing.

With a 3-camera setup, cine lenses, and professional lighting, we’re ensuring that these videos have the cinematic feel they deserve.

Nottingham Playhouse: Archiving Powerful Performances

We had the opportunity to record an archival performance of ‘Girls & Boys’, a compelling touring production at Nottingham Playhouse. Written by Dennis Kelly, this gripping one-woman play tells a powerful and thought-provoking story that explores themes of love, ambition, and violence. Our recording ensures that this important production remains accessible for future audiences.

As February comes to a close, we’re grateful for the amazing projects we’ve been part of and the incredible people we’ve worked with. We can’t wait to see what March has in store!
