At the beginning of August, we produced another live stream for Curve Theatre in Leicester. This was their Winter Season Preview where audiences get to see exclusive performances from upcoming shows and live Q&As with the creatives behind the productions. As Curve like to make this event as accessible as possible, we were asked to stream the whole 2 hour event live to their Facebook page. Curve give us the luxury of a whole control room to ourselves when we produce streams for them, and although this is nice, our portable production unit means that we can live stream from pretty much anywhere.

To ensure the stream was as accessible as possible, we also included live burnt-in captions to the stream. We work with the fabulous team at 121 Captions who provide their captioning service. To make this work, we supply one of their remote stenographers with an audio feed via Skype. They then feed the captions back to us via a live web player, which in turn is overlaid on the stream.

Using our Content Delivery Network, we then streamed the programme out to Curve’s Facebook page and a backup web player on their website.
