Project Brief

We are very proud as a company to continue our great working relationship with the Leicester Comedy Festival. In 2016, Crosscut Media provided all of the festival’s video and photo content for their social media and marketing. This year we have also taken upon the role of social media manger for all of their social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat) as well as being their video and photo content providers.

Our first job of the 2017 festival was to film at the Leicester Comedy Festival Gala Preview Show at De Montfort Hall on the 6th of January. We filmed backstage with comedians such as Jason Byrne, Dane Baptiste and Lloyd Griffith for a video called ‘Fact or Fiction’, where the comedians had to guess if Carly Smallman did actually kiss Nigel Farage on stage in 2009 and if Jamali Maddix is an actual ordained minister? To find out which was true and which was false why not watch the video!

Our other project that night was to promote the Leicester Comedy Festival as a political party, with Carly Smallman performing the Official Comedy Party song live on stage at the De Montfort Hall. We edited both of these videos after the preview show finished (we finished editing at 3am) so that it could go out the next day. We loved every moment of the preview show (especially the 4am McDonalds) and look forward to working at the Leicester Comedy Festival starting in February.

The videos and photos that we created at the event were also used across the Leicester Mercury website.
