Private Peaceful – UK Tour

We’re super excited to shout about our latest work filming the advert for the play Private Peaceful, based on the book by Michael Morpurgo. Private Peaceful follows the Peaceful brothers, Tommo and Charlie and their tough rural childhood. Their fierce loyalty to each other pulls them through, until one day they fall for the same girl. And then the Great War comes.

Filmed at Nottingham Playhouse, before the play goes on tour around theatres across the UK, the play is a stunning and impactful re-telling of the much beloved book. The play will be touring the UK, playing at 18 other theatres over the next 6 months.

We had one day to film the one minute trailer for the show. Francesca Costa directed the whole shoot, working closely with the theatre staff, film crew and actors to produce such a visually stunning trailer. We had a jib / crane operated by Chris Hood, and a handheld camera operated by Dan Flanders. The tricky aspect of production was working out how to tell the story succinctly and accurately within 1 minute. Francesca worked tirelessly in the days leading up to the shoot to ensure that the team was well prepared for the tight shooting schedule, ensuring that we had a smooth shooting day.

We are thrilled with how the final promotional trailer has come out, as it really captures the essence of the show whilst clearly explaining the story and the themes involved.

Private Peaceful – based on the book by Michael Morpurgo – is touring across the UK until July.
