Project Brief

On the 2nd of November, as part of Leicester Business Festival, the annual Stand Up Challenge event took place at Leicester Racecourse. In aid of Big Difference Company and sponsored by Leicester Castle Business School, the event sees business people from across the city taking to the stage for their first (and in some cases last) 5 minutes of stand up comedy. As our second time working at the event, we’d been asked to produce similar material to 2015’s event; a general promo and the full performance of each contestant.

Our promo introduced each contestant by asking them a variety of questions before their big moment. From Dragons’ Den to business VS comedy – the quick fire interview caught a few off-guard. We then went into a sequence of short snippets from the event itself through to quotes from a few of the contestants about their experience.
We also provided the full versions of each performance. As part of the brief, we were asked to deliver everything by the next morning in order to release them on social media and in local press. In order to achieve this quick turnaround, we took our portable multi-camera production unit along. This allows us to edit the event live, recording everything to a drive ready for tweaking, with most of the work already done by the time post production comes around.
