The perfect length for an animation

It’s an age old question – how long is a piece of string? Or more relevant, how long should an animated video be? It goes back to the purpose of the video. If you’re selling a product to potential leads, the ultimate duration is going to be very different to a video explaining how to use the product.

Obviously sales videos need to be short, sharp and to the point. They need to tell your customer exactly what the product does, how it can help them, why it’s better than other products on the market and how to purchase. If it’s too long and detailed, you’ll lose people as they continue scrolling down their news feeds. If you need to explain a process to existing customers, you can take your time, ensuring that the instructions are clear and easy to follow. They’re essentially a captive audience because they need the knowledge.

Animation can be a lengthy process, so it’s always important to allow enough time for an animation to be completed when commissioning one. If you have an animation project you’d like to discuss, feel free to get in touch!
