We’re excited to show off one of our latest filming projects for Curve; capturing behind the scenes and studio recordings of The Color Purple. We spent a day in May filming with 3 members of the cast, as they prepared for a photoshoot and studio recordings of a number of songs from the musical. From that filming, we have produced 3 music videos and a behind the scenes film featuring interviews with the cast and a few of songs from the production.

We used our Canon C100 on a gimbal, to acquire smooth hand held footage and with the C200’s ability to film slow motion, we captured footage throughout the day to create 3 music videos and a behind the scenes film. It was also one of the first times we got to use our newly purchased Samyang Cine Prime Lens kit, which we were very excited about.

The Color Purple is based on the prize-winning novel by Alice Walker, the classic hit movie and the broadway musical of the same name, and it is being shown at Curve Leicester and the Birmingham Hippodrome. The team at Curve were great to work with as usual, and the voices of T’Shan Williams, Joanna Francis and Danielle Fiamanya were breath taking. We were really proud to be a part of this production.
